On Sept. 26th the 2010 Publix Escape to Miami Triathlon Weekend will feature the Olympic Distance presented by CYTOMAX & MUSCLE MILK and the Sprint Distance presented by US Road Sports & Entertainment.

New for 2010: The Publix Escape to Miami Triathlon has been called one of the toughest around, with finishers proclaiming they feel like they finished a half-iron. Now, we are elevating the race to include more athletes, more boats and new start times with our wave start. Plus, we offer the Sprint Escape, a sprint distance race on the same course.
Wave Start for Olympic Distance: In order to accommodate a larger race field and ensure everyone gets started on time, we have moved from a mass start to a wave start. Now, athlete will be loaded and unloaded on ferries by wave and will start once that wave has reached Escape Island. Waves will begin between 7:00 AM and 7:50 AM and all participants must still be ready to board ferries by 6 AM. Ferry schedules will be posted prior to the race.
More Boats: Our ferry provider has allocated more boats to us for the Escape, allowing us to move more people to Escape Island in a faster fashion. As a result, wave starts will go out on time and we can now accommodate up to 1,200 Olympic Distance athletes.
Sprint Distance: For 2010, we are continuing the Sprint Distance Escape, providing athletes with everything the Olympic has to offer BUT THE TRIP TO ESCAPE ISLAND! This sprint, which will be one of the most challenging and rewarding in the Southeast, will take you over both causeways and reward you with a finisher medal, amazing course views and support and the thrill of finishing what has been called the toughest triathlon course around. New Finisher Medals: Finishers of the 2010 Publix Escape to Miami Triathlon, both Sprint and Olympic distances, will receive a newly designed finisher medal and ribbon to commemorate their finish! Check out the new medal!

June 2010- Elite Cycling & Fitness, owned and operated by Olympians K.C.
