Make a difference with our events family

Volunteers are essential to the success of all of our premier races in South Florida. Volunteers are welcome in groups and individuals, whether you are a veteran volunteer for our races and involved in the race community or new to athletic events. We will be sure to provide a world-class experience as well as some other exciting goodies in the process. Volunteering is one of the best ways to give back to the community and have a fun time with friends, family and/or coworkers by serving others and making new friends along the way. We hope to see you on race day!

Thank you in advance to all of our 2015 Mack Cycle Escape to Miami Triathlon presented by Voler 13.1 volunteers. Don’t forget to use #lifetimevolunteer when posting your fun photos on social media!

Vision

Life Time Athletic Events was developed to produce race events that incorporate health and fitness, competition, and most of all — fun! We utilize volunteers to hand out food and water to participants as well as distribute medals at the finish line. We also offer volunteer opportunities to aid participants on course and at packet pickup before the race.

Mission

The mission of the Life Time Athletic Events Volunteer Program is to recruit sports-savvy individuals and groups that are willing to innovate each and every one of the races that we produce to create an experience unlike any other by serving the community and having lots of fun in the process.

Volunteer Perks

By being an integral part of our team as a volunteer, you will be rewarded. First, we provide a volunteer shirt that reminds you whenever you wear it of the incredible experience you had and allows you to celebrate your participation and giving back to your community. You will also receive a Volunteer Swag Bag with goodies including food and other potential gift incentives.

Leadership Opportunities

There are plenty of leadership opportunities if you sign up to volunteer at our race. One of the most important roles to create the most successful race possible is the reliance on our Volunteer Captains. As a Volunteer Captain, you will lead a group of 10-30 individuals or small groups in a given area and become an expert at your station. This leadership possibility will provide you with a staff-like experience and will make your commitment to the race even more invaluable to the rest of the event staff.

Group Opportunities

If you are a member of a group, club, athletic team, or any other type of corporate or religious organization, get involved in the community by volunteering for our race! This is an excellent team-building opportunity since groups work hard and have fun at an incredible event. Groups of 15 or more will receive a donation to their group or club (with a valid tax ID) because of their efforts in helping us produce a first-class race.

Volunteer FAQs

Q: What if I sign up to volunteer at a race but can no longer volunteer due to personal, work or other related reasons?
A: Contact us as soon as possible. The worst thing you can do is leave us hanging. If you cannot volunteer after signing up, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator (details below) ASAP so that they can fill your position so the race runs smoothly. If you have a friend/family member that can take your place, talk with the Volunteer Coordinator and have them sign up online.

Q: Is there an age limit or minimum for volunteers?
A: The age minimum for volunteers without parental supervision is 13. Any volunteer 12 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult. Life Time Fitness is not liable for any individuals under the age of 12.

Q: Where do I go on race day if I signed up to volunteer?
A: Go to the designated area you were assigned. If you don’t know where to go or if the details weren’t specific enough for you, contact the Volunteer Coordinator. If you don’t have time to contact the Volunteer Coordinator prior to race day, go to the Volunteer or Registration Tent onsite and ask to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator. They will let you know where to go.

Q:What do I wear on race day?
A: You will be provided with an awesome volunteer shirt! Wear comfortable shorts or pants (although South Florida is always pretty warm) with sneakers or comfortable shoes. Be prepared for rain or other natural events that may affect your attire. Be cognizant that you are representing yourself and/or your group or affiliate, so dress accordingly.

Q: Can I bring a friend or family member?
A: Of course, the more the merrier! Bring friends and family members, but please notify either your Volunteer Captain or Volunteer Coordinator ahead of time.

Q: If I volunteer, will I receive a free or discounted race entry to other Life Time Athletic Events?
A: This is based on a circumstantial basis. Contact the Volunteer Coordinator for more information.
