On the heels of a successful competition in Tempe, Life Time is proud to bring a unique challenge at next weeks’ Escape to Miami Triathlon.

Max Fennell, pro triathlete, longtime Life Time Tri Ambassador, entrepreneur and Defender on CBS’ hit Million Dollar Mileshow is registered to compete in the the Escape to Miami Triathlon on Sunday, September 22.

What’s unique is that Max will be participating in the Sprint distance, the shorter of two course options consisting of a .25 mile swim, 13 mile bike and 3.1 mile run. Max is a big fan of short course racing and realizes he won’t have much direct competition since the Sprint distance is often preferred by entry-level participants.

Life Time is inspired by his involvement and hopes to support Max by sourcing a few quality competitors. As an incentive, the first person to either beat Max OR finish within 60 seconds of his net finish time, will earn $1,000 donated to the charity of their choice, as well as a variety of coffee products from Max’s coffee company, Fenn Coffee.

The Details
This special “Catch Max” competition is open to officially registered individuals within the Sprint’s “competitive” division. Entries are limited and subject to capacity.

Participants need to declare their involvement by 6:00 PM ET on Saturday, September 21 with our Athlete Services team to ensure everyone is properly bib-assigned, coded, and racked within Transition. Latecomers will not be allowed to participate.

All program participants will start in the first wave of the Sprint distance.

The competition is open to professional and amateur athletes alike. Standard Life Time Tri Age Group race rules will apply to all participants, including Max. Click here for full details.

The ultimate winner will be determined by calculating the net finish times from chip timing.

In the event that Max finishes first, but does not finish more than 60 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher, Life Time will donate $1,000 to the charitable organization of the runner up’s (female or male) choice. The donation recipient must be a registered 501(c)3 organization within the United States. The winner will also receive a goodie bag of Fenn Coffee products.

In the event that Max does not finish first (or does not finish at all), Life Time will honor the same $1,000 charitable donation and goodie bag to the fastest overall Sprint competitive finisher (female or male).

Interested participants are welcome to email our Athlete Services team with additional questions.

Good luck!
